Valentine’s Day Snacks
Valentine’s Day is a perfect holiday to celebrate with food, and whether you’re looking for a fun snack or dessert, this is a great place to start. From muffins and cupcakes, to smoothies and flavored milks, these are some of our favorites to share.
I tried to include both chocolate and strawberry ideas (so pink!), as well as ones that are just festive for this time of year. You can make them for the kids or with your little sweethearts, and be sure to enjoy them yourself.

This super easy stir-together healthy Chocolate Cake is a cinch to make, and it has less sugar than traditional cakes. Maybe “healthier” is a better description, but whatever you call it, it’s so darn good! (PS: It happens to be vegan!)

With just three ingredients, this recipe for heart-shaped gummies is a perfect party food! You can make a batch in minutes, and the kids will love getting to snack on homemade gummies that taste like chocolate milk. These are a healthy heart-shaped snack to keep around at this time of year.
Homemade Chocolate Yogurt Gummies I used this heart silicone mold and made 20 gummies. (Each was just over 1 tablespoon of the mixture.) You can also pour the mixture into a baking dish and slice into squares if you prefer. You might want to add a tablespoon or two of honey if you want them sweeter—simply taste the mixture before putting it into molds and adjust as needed. Get the recipe

Chocolate Protein Muffins
Rich and chocolaty but packed with nutrition from veggies and fruit, these moist muffins would also make a healthy Valentine’s Day treat for school since they are nut-free.

This is an activity and snack the kids can help make with any colors for Valentine’s Day. Try offering with peanut butter dip or even ice cream for fun.
